Green Chili Chicken Pizza Recipe

The southwest is known for spicy food and Santa Fe is no exception. Many restaurants in Santa Fe give customers the option of red or green chili peppers. When preparing my Chimichanga pizza I used red chili sauce, so I decided to try green chili peppers on this pizza. This time of year the pepper selection at Wegmans is limited so I chose the second hottest pepper they had. It was described as “moderately hot.” Safe enough.

I removed some of the seeds from the peppers, then roasted and sliced them. After pre-baking the dough I spread on La Preferida Green Chile Enchilada Sauce, sprinkled on cheddar cheese, shredded chicken and the chili peppers. This was one of those pizzas that delivered  a mouth-watering aroma while it was baking. The subtle spice of the chili peppers along with the sharp flavor of the cheddar cheese gave it a true southwestern feel. My green chili chicken pizza tasted amazing!
